Sukhbir Singh Badal Still Faces Resentment Among the Public, but Attacking Him is Wrong: Misl Satluj
Ajaypal Singh Brar, the President of Misl Satluj, condemned this attempted attack on Sukhbir Singh Badal, calling the attack a wrong step considering the circumstances and timing.
Yesterday, following the declaration by the Singh Sahibs from the fortifications of Shri Akal Takht Sahib that former Chief Minister of Punjab, Sukhbir Singh Badal, is a “Tankhahiya” (a person declared guilty by the religious authority), he was ordered to serve penance by holding performing service at the gate of Shri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar. Yesterday, Sukhbir Singh Badal began fulfilling this penance at Shri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar.
Ajaypal Singh Brar stated that attacking Sukhbir Singh Badal inside Shri Darbar Sahib is highly condemnable. He emphasized that Sukhbir Singh Badal was serving in accordance with the orders of Shri Akal Takht Sahib, and firing on him during this service is a violation of those orders. He noted that personal differences may exist with Sukhbir Singh Badal, but attacking anyone while they are carrying out penance is highly inappropriate.
Brar further mentioned that during his tenure as Punjab’s Home Minister, Sukhbir Singh Badal inflicted much suffering and oppression on the common people, which is why people harbor anger against him today. However, expressing anger through such an attack is not justified.
