Instead of digging through your bookmarks menu, you can quickly access your saved bookmarks by typing “bookmark” followed by the name of the bookmark or a keyword associated with it into the omnibox. Chrome will display matching bookmarks, making it easy to navigate to your desired page.
Perform Calculations
Need to crunch some numbers? You can use the omnibox as a basic calculator by typing a mathematical expression directly into the address bar. Press Enter, and Chrome will instantly display the result.
Convert Units and Currency
Whether you’re converting units of measurement or currencies, Chrome’s omnibox can handle it. Simply type your conversion query—such as “10 USD to EUR” or “100 miles to kilometers”—into the address bar, and Chrome will provide the converted value.
Define Terms
If you encounter a word you’re unfamiliar with while browsing, you can quickly look up its definition using the omnibox. Type “define” followed by the word you want to define, and Chrome will display the definition sourced from a dictionary.
Navigate to Websites
Of course, the primary function of the omnibox is to serve as an address bar, allowing you to enter website URLs directly. You can type the URL of a website you want to visit into the address bar and press Enter to navigate to the site.

Search Your History
To find a previously visited website in your browsing history, you can type “history” followed by a keyword related to the site or its URL into the omnibox. Chrome will display matching results from your browsing history, enabling you to quickly revisit the desired page.
Perform Site-Specific Searches
If you want to search within a specific website, you can use Chrome’s omnibox to perform site-specific searches. Type the website’s domain followed by your search query into the address bar, and Chrome will display results only from that site.

Chrome extensions and apps can enhance your browsing experience in various ways. You can quickly access your installed extensions and apps by typing “chrome://extensions” or “chrome://apps” into the omnibox and pressing Enter.
