A tricity based multifaceted artist Poonam Arora has established an art studio – ‘Studio Art Life’ at Chandigarh’s NAC, Manimajra market. Poonam shared details of the new ‘art space’ as well as its maiden multi-artist exhibition during an interaction held with media at the studio. She was joined by some other artists who are presenting their works at the gallery.
Poonam while talking to reporters said, “Having been an artist for many years, I understand the emotions, struggles, and dedication that every artist carries. I witnessed during my journey that finding the right space to put up my works as a solo artist was always a challenge, this ignited me to create a space not just to present my latest collections from time to time, but also provide artists – both budding and established – a facility to showcase their creations.”
Poonam added,”We plan to hold topical art workshops at the studio so that the art scene in tricity gets a face-lift.”
Poonam highlighted the deep connection she has with art, “I live for art and want to immerse myself in it, the initiative is close to my heart. My objective behind starting ‘Studio Art Life’ is to soak myself completely in art and explore its endless possibilities through this space where creativity continues to grow and evolve.”
Notably Studio Art Life is hosting its inaugural multi-artist exhibition which has kick-started and will be on till Sunday – Nov 2. It brings together works of as many as fourteen (14) artists, including Poonam.
Poonam informed that there are twenty-two (22) paintings by eleven (11) artists and that the paintings have been created using a mix of media which includes water colours, oil paint, acrylic etc. The exhibition presents work of two (2) artists who have displayed three (3) sculptures. Moreover, a unique collection by another artist has showcased an ensemble of artistic decoupage work. Decoupage is the art of decorating an object by gluing coloured paper cut-outs or thin materials like napkins onto it.
Talking about her collection at the “Studio Art Life’s” Multi-Artist Exhibition Poonam said that her works are figurative, semi-abstract, and contemporary that reflect emotion, observation, and imagination.
Talking about the artists featured in this exhibition she said that the works of artists display emotion, sensitivity, and strength, bringing together a sense of unity in diversity that perfectly reflects the spirit of ‘Studio Art Life’.
Explaining the reason behind putting up a multi-artist exhibition Poonam said, “I wanted the opening of ‘Studio Art Life’ to be a collective celebration of creativity. A group exhibition allows different artistic voices to come together and create a beautiful conversation through their works. I believe art grows stronger when shared.”
In conclusion, Poonam said, “I want ‘Studio Art Life’ to be not just a place where I can showcase my works but also where both budding and established artists feel understood and supported. For young artists, my gallery will offer a chance to gain exposure and confidence and for established artists, it will provide a respectful and professional space to showcase their works.”
