The SGPC has disbursed a sum of Rs 1.43 crore to support Amritdhari children in the academic year 2023-24, who are enrolled in educational institutions under its purview. Today, at the SGPC office, President Harjinder Singh Dhami distributed cheques representing this stipend to the respective educational institutions.
During the event, Dhami emphasized the SGPC’s dedication to promoting Sikhism, highlighting the stipend scheme tailored for Amritdhari students. He noted that this initiative annually assists these students with their fees, with Rs 1.43 crore being allocated this year to support 2791 beneficiaries.

Additionally, Dhami mentioned other financial aids, particularly through religious examinations facilitated by the Dharam Prachar Committee. He urged the community to encourage their children to embrace Sikh teachings and traditional attire, aiming to maximize the benefits of such schemes among the youth.
Attendees at the event included members of the Dharam Prachar Committee such as Bhai Ajaib Singh Abhyasi, as well as SGPC members Avtar Singh Raya, Harpal Singh Jalla, Surjit Singh Tugalwala, Ajmer Singh Khera, Jarnail Singh Kartarpur, along with other officials and educators.
