Randy Orton’s Doctors Advise Against WWE Return amid Injury, Says Father Bob Orton

Randy Orton’s Doctors Advise Against WWE Return amid Injury, Says Father Bob Orton

Father Bob Orton reveals that Randy Orton’s doctors have advised him against making a WWE comeback due to his injury.

Randy Orton’s return to wrestling for WWE might take some time.

During a conversation with Bill Apter of Sportskeeda Wrestling, WWE Hall of Famer Bob Orton, father of Orton, recently discussed his son’s status. The elder Orton revealed that doctors have advised against his son’s return to wrestling as he continues to recover from back fusion surgery performed in November.

“He’s training, so we’ll see what happens; I don’t know,” said Bob Orton, as reported by Felix Upton of Ringside News. “If he feels like he’s ready to return, he might, but he’s already receiving good care. I don’t think he necessarily needs to. Moreover, the doctors have advised against it. However, Randy will ultimately make his own decisions.”

In April, WrestlingInc’s Marco Rovere reported that Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter mentioned that Orton was far from making a return.

In May 2022, The Viper’s most recent wrestling appearance for WWE occurred when he, along with Matt Riddle, suffered a loss to The Usos in a title unification match.

Despite being absent for an extended period, Orton continues to be recognized as a legendary figure with an impressive record of 14 world championships.

Randy Orton’s last wrestling match took place almost a year ago on May 20, 2022, when RK-Bro lost the Raw tag titles to The Usos on SmackDown. In November, he underwent fusion surgery on his lower back, and there is currently no specific timeframe for his possible comeback.

In relation to that, Orton Jr. expressed that his son’s determination to make a comeback mirrors the mindset shared by numerous wrestlers who struggle to retire until they believe their time is truly over. He stated, “When you’re in the ring and the crowd is going wild, you just love it. So it’s difficult to walk away from.”
