Over 5 crore Income Tax Returns filed till July 26

As of July 26, more than 5 crore Income Tax Returns (ITRs) for the assessment year 2024-25 have been filed, according to Income Tax India. This is compared to the figures from July 27 last year.

In a post on the social media platform X, Income Tax India thanked taxpayers and tax professionals for their contributions and encouraged those who have not yet filed their ITRs to do so promptly to avoid a last-minute rush.

“We are grateful to taxpayers and tax professionals for helping us achieve the milestone of 5 crore Income Tax Returns (ITRs). As of July 26 this year, over 5 crore ITRs for AY 2024-25 have been filed, compared to July 27 last year,” the post stated.

The organization also reminded taxpayers that the deadline for filing ITR for AY 2024-25 is July 31, 2024.

“Attention Taxpayers! Please remember to file your ITR if you haven’t done so yet. The deadline to file ITR for AY 2024-25 is July 31, 2024,” Income Tax India added in another post on X.

Over 5 crore Income Tax Returns (ITRs) for the assessment year 2024-25 have already been filed till Friday, July 26, this year, compared to July 27 last year, the Income Tax India said.

In a post on the social media platform X, the Income Tax India expressed gratitude to taxpayers and tax professionals, and urged taxpayers to file their ITRs to avoid the last-minute rush.

“We express our gratitude to the taxpayers and tax professionals for helping us reach the milestone of 5 crore Income Tax Returns (ITRs). Over 5 crore ITRs for AY 2024-25 have already been filed till 26th of July this year as compared to 27th of July last year,” the Income Tax India said in its post.

“We urge all those who haven’t filed ITR for AY 2024-25, to file their ITR at the earliest to avoid last-minute rush,” it added.

The last date for filing ITR for AY 2024-25 is July 31, 2024.
