The operation resulted in the recovery of stolen vehicles worth over $1.2 million.

During a press conference in Brampton, Police Chief Nishan Duraiappah, Detective Allan Dean, and Deputy Chief Nick Milinovich shared details of the extensive investigation, known as Project Warlock.

This operation targeted a series of violent incidents that have affected Brampton, Mississauga, and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

The investigation led to multiple search warrants, culminating in 18 arrests and over 100 charges.

Authorities seized more than $55,000 in stolen property and confiscated four prohibited firearms.

Chief Duraiappah emphasized the severe impact on victims, stating, “The home invasions involved individuals waking up to firearms in their beds, traumatizing children at home.

This has forever changed the lives of these families and their daily routines.”

Detective Dean, who led Project Warlock, revealed that from November 2023 to January 2024, eight violent robberies occurred in Brampton, including home invasions, carjackings, and commercial robberies, targeting jewelry, clothing, and luxury vehicles.

“During one home invasion, a victim sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound to his lower body,” Dean stated.

“The initial investigations into these eight incidents identified an organized criminal network based in Brampton and Mississauga as responsible for these robberies.”
