Kiara Advani calls toxic her toughest role yet, says Playing Nadia was a transformative experience

Kiara Advani has opened up about her role in the upcoming pan-India film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, calling it the most demanding performance of her career so far. Taking to her X (formerly Twitter) profile, the actor shared a heartfelt note reflecting on the intense journey behind portraying Nadia, a character that has already sparked massive curiosity following the release of her first-look poster.

In her post, Kiara described the role as one that pushed her physically, mentally, and emotionally. She referred to the experience as “nothing short of transformative,” revealing that months of preparation and hard work went into bringing Nadia to life. Calling it her “toughest one yet,” Kiara expressed gratitude for the overwhelming love the first look has received, adding that the response has meant everything to her.

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Geetu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups stars Yash in the lead and is set against the gritty backdrop of a Goa-based drug cartel. The film explores themes of power, ambition, and moral conflict, positioning itself as a dark gangster drama with emotional depth. The project marks Yash’s return to the big screen after the massive success of KGF: Chapter 2 and is already considered one of the most awaited films of 2026.

Kiara Advani’s first-look poster as Nadia created a strong impact across social media. Shot from a low angle, the poster shows her with teary eyes and smudged mascara, dressed in a dramatic outfit that hints at a bold, almost circus-performer aesthetic. Fans quickly praised the intensity of her look, with many drawing comparisons to iconic, fearless female characters seen in international cinema. The visual suggested that Nadia is not a conventional role, but one layered with emotional complexity and strength.

Geetu Mohandas has previously spoken highly of Kiara’s performance, stating that some roles redefine an artist, and that Kiara’s work in Toxic does exactly that. Such praise from the director has further elevated expectations around the film and Kiara’s character arc within it.

Produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups features music by Ravi Basrur and high-octane action sequences choreographed by a mix of Indian and international stunt teams. The film is scheduled for a multi-language theatrical release on March 19, 2026, and with each new update, anticipation continues to grow.
