Jyotica Tangri has been receiving wonderful responses to her new single Heart Wali Baaji. Speaking about the overwhelming support, she said, “The fans have been very kind to me on social media, but what made me really happy were the calls from my musician friends and composers I’ve sung for. That is rare because they don’t compliment anything unless it’s really good.” She recalled how composer Toshi, known for the song Ishq De Fanniyar, called her and praised her vocal scale and the fact that she composed the song herself. “So I got a compliment from another composer, and that is something I am really happy about,” Jyotica shared.
When asked about her future as a composer and writer, Jyotica expressed openness to new opportunities. “Hopefully, I will get some work. If people like the song I wrote and composed, perhaps others would want to work with me. Though I haven’t planned it, if I get such an opportunity, I would love to jam with people and create songs based on given situations,” she said enthusiastically.
Jyotica revealed her creative process, explaining how she imagines stories and characters in her mind that inspire her songwriting. “Every time I make a song, there is a story going on in my head. I have imaginary characters, the ones I’d like to have in the song, and what they do somehow creates the song. It would be nice if I get a situation and get to make a song,” she added.
Best known for hits like Pallo Latke, Mungda, and Surmedaani, Jyotica Tangri has also made a mark in the Punjabi music industry with songs like Kanda Kacheya and Jinne Saah. She won the Zee Cine Award for Best Female Playback Singer in 2018, cementing her reputation as a versatile and talented artist.
