Five Arrested in Amritsar: 2 ‘Big Fish’ Seized with 3kg Heroin and ₹5.25 Lakh Drug Money

Two prominent figures in the drug trade were apprehended in Amritsar along with three accomplices as part of the ongoing anti-drug campaign directed by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. The Punjab Police successfully arrested the two fugitive brothers, recognized as significant players in the drug industry—Manjit Singh, also known as Manna, and Lavjit Singh, alias Lav or Labh. The operation resulted in the seizure of 3 kg of heroin and ₹5.25 lakh in drug money from their possession, as announced by Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab, Gaurav Yadav, on Tuesday.

In addition to recovering heroin and drug funds, the police impounded three vehicles—Toyota Fortuner, Hyundai i20, and Renault Pulse—along with a Splendour motorcycle. An electronic weighing scale was also confiscated during the operation.

They were also wanted by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) Mumbai in a 260-Kg heroin seizure case and by Delhi Special Cell in a 356-Kg heroin seizure case.
