Bollywood’s espionage thriller Dhurandhar, directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Aditya Dhar, continues to break records at the box office. Following its massive success in India and overseas, the Union Territory of Ladakh has officially declared the film tax-free, making it more accessible to audiences and further boosting its collections. The announcement was confirmed by Lt. Governor Shri Kavinder Gupta, highlighting Ladakh’s support for the film and its creators.

Produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, Dhurandhar stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role, alongside a powerhouse ensemble including Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun. The movie revolves around large-scale covert intelligence operations inspired by real-life events, combining high-octane action with gripping storytelling, which has resonated strongly with viewers across the globe.

The tax-free declaration is seen as a recognition of the film’s overwhelming popularity and its positive reception among audiences. Ladakh’s scenic locales, extensively featured in Dhurandhar, also play a key role in the storytelling, showcasing the region as an attractive destination for filmmakers while giving fans stunning visual backdrops for the thriller’s intense sequences.

Dhurandhar’s success at the box office has been unprecedented, with the film surpassing multiple commercial benchmarks since its release. Its mix of action, drama, and emotional depth has made it a hit with both critics and general audiences, resulting in strong word-of-mouth and a sustained theatrical run. The film continues to dominate cinemas even as new releases hit the market.

The movie is written, directed, and co-produced by Aditya Dhar, with Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar as producers. The film’s high production values, stellar performances, and intricate plot have contributed to its status as one of the most successful Bollywood releases of 2026. Fans eagerly await the upcoming sequel, scheduled for March 2026, promising to expand the thrilling espionage saga.

With Ladakh’s tax exemption and continued audience support, Dhurandhar is cementing its legacy as a box office blockbuster.
