Two days Art Exhibition ‘Meri Pehchaan-3’ starts at Government Art Gallery

A two days art exhibition ‘Meri Pehchaan – 3’ organised by Chhaya School of Art (CSA) kicked off at Government Art Gallery, Sector 10 here. More than 300 paintings made by 100 students from the different schools of Tricity, who have received training at Chhaya School of Art displayed their art at  the tricity’s largest exhibition.

On this occasion, Ravneet Singh Khurana, an IRS officer & special secretary to the government of Punjab graced the event as Chief Guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Kaushik Sinha, Chairman, Co-founder & Director CSA, said “Art is something which comes from within. But in today’s competitive world, not everyone gets a good platform to showcase their talents. But Chhaya School of Art has made this a reality by providing budding artists with a ‘stage’ where they can learn and also showcase their creativity to people.”

Mrs Praveen Sinha, Co-founder, CSA said, “The students of Chhaya School of Art have competed at the state, national & the international level.  Students have displayed their artworks in the exhibition, thereby providing them with the right exposure. I am happy to state that  today the Chhaya school of Art has 1670 affiliated centers all over India & plans to open more internationally.”

A highlight of the exhibition’s opening day was that under the initiative of Chhaya School of Art to help underprivileged children – 40 young artists also distributed books & stationery items among needy students from the amount collected out of their own pocket money.

In the exhibition, one gets a glimpse of a blend of superior artistic skills and creativity of young painters. The showcase presented a pretty picture & looked like some festival of art with beautiful works making the environment colourful.

It is noteworthy that Chhaya School of Art, was started in 1999, by Suman Saini, an art teacher. The main motive behind this was to preserve India’s rich cultural heritage and art for coming generations.

The idea behind  ‘Meri Pehchaan’ is to conduct an extravaganza displaying the works of different students from numerous schools under one roof. The Exhibition will be on, at Government Art Gallery, Sec 10, Chandigarh from July 9, 10 am to 4:30 pm till July 10, 2022.
