NSS Unit of DAV College Chandigarh effectuated the last&the seventh day of the Seven Day/Night NSS Special Camp

NSS Unit of DAV College Chandigarh effectuated the last and the seventh day of the Seven Day/Night NSS Special Camp under the adept guidance of Dr. Pawan Kumar Sharma, Principal DAV College, Chandigarh and profound management of our the NSS Programming Officer.

A total of 200 volunteers participated in this special 7 day/night camp. The camp started on 10th March 2023 with hawan for world peace. Principal DAVC Dr. Pawan Kumar Sharma floral welcomed our chief guests Former Principal DAVC KS Arya, Regional director NSS Smt. Harinder Kaur, State Liasion Officer Dr. Nemi Chand Golia and Guest of honour Ex. President Panjab and Haryana High Court, S. Santokwinder Singh, Bar Association Chandigarh on the inauguration day.

During the seven-day camp, volunteers were addressed by various keynote speakers from different fields such as yoga, meditation, spirituality, military action, theatre, Red Cross, psychology, career counseling and
numerous awareness sessions on the topic HIV, E-waste management, Transgender issues, youth education, our health, avoiding and avoiding drugs etc were held.

An awareness campaign on the topic “Education is our right” was conducted in the adopted village Dhanas. Simultaneously, a free checkup camp was organized in the college campus in association with Paras Hospital. A speech and poster competition was organized on G-20 themes for the inclusive development of the volunteers wherein they shared empowering experiences of their lives. Folk dances from different parts of India were presented by the students in the closing session of the camp.

An award distribution ceremony was held on the closing day. On this occasion, Vice President of Panjab University Law Division Dr. Devendra Singh, D.A.V. Vice President of the College Management Committee H.R. Gandhar, Dr. Neelu from America, State Liaison Officer Nemichand Golia, Principal DAVC Dr. Pawan Sharma and the NSS Programming Officer Dr. Uday Bhan Singh were present to reward the proficient volunteers for their accordant and diligent efforts in various competitions held and their contribution throughout the year which filled the mass with great avidity and fervour.
