Markandey’s ton leads Rose Zone to a convincing win over Sukhna Zone

Chandigarh, A magnificent century by skipper Markandey Panchal guided Rose Zone to a 60-run win over Sukhna Zone in the ongoing Under-19 One-Day Tournament at Baba Balak Nath Cricket Academy, Kaimbala.

Opting to bat first, Rose Zone piled up a formidable 306/8 in 50 overs. Panchal led from the front and scored 106 off 89 balls which was studded with 15 boundaries and three sixes. He received strong support from Shaurya Badak (66) and Hritik Raj (57).

Chasing the target, Sukhna Zone started steadily and reached 191/6 in 39 overs before rain and bad light halted play. Rose Zone was declared the winner under the VJD method.I

In another fixture, Rock Zone dominated Plaza Zone to clinch a 111-run victory. Batting first, Rock Zone amassed 282/7 which was powered by solid contributions from Jaspreet Singh (75) and Sherry Singh (59). In reply, Plaza Zone faltered to manage only 171/6 despite Harshit Suri’s fighting 46-run knock.
