“GST: A Key Enabler for Viksit Bharat”: Experts

Members of Trade and Industry Association from Punjab, Chandigarh & Haryana organized a workshop on “GST- A Key Enabler to Viksit Bharat” here today at a private hotel.

 

Session was inaugurated by Manoj Kumar Srivastava [IRS], Chief Commissioner CGST Panchkula. Other Senior officers Sh. Vikas Kumar [IRS] Pr. Commissioner CGST Ludhiana, Hardeep Batra [IRS] Commissioner Audit Ludhiana, Rajan Datt [IRS] Commissioner CGST Panchkula, Kumar Gaurav Dhawan [IRS] Commissioner CGST Jalandhar interacted with trade members, resolved their grievances and assured to put forth the trade suggestions with CBIC. Manoj Kumar Srivastava felicitated members of trade and officers for their contributions in GST in past 7 years.

 

CS Sanjay Malhotra (an eminent Indirect Tax Expert), who was the Key Note Speaker shared the recent amendments in GST, circulars issued by CBIC and apprised members of recommendations of 53rd GST Council meeting which highlighted the road map of “GST as a key enabler of Viksit Bharat”. He focused on ensuring compliance and controls put in by GST Council to combat fake invoicing and tax evasions. He appreciated the initiative of “Grievance and Feedback session” undertaken by GST Commissionerate Ludhiana and Panchkula.

 

Ritika Malhotra shared with the trade members “Journey of GST in past 7 years” focusing on Gains, Pains, Most Litigated issues and Suggestions for further tax reforms.

 

Members of Trade Sanjiv Aggarwal [MD- SCOTTEDILL], CS Arjun Tyagi – Regional Council Member ICSI, Pawan Pahwa [PHDCCI] were also present and shared their views on GST- A Key Enabler for Viksit Bharat.

 

Young moderators Ms. Kanwalpreet Kaur and Ms. Ritika Malhotra has given warm welcome to the Members from CGST Office and Industry as the officers have always been supportive to implement the suggestions given by Trade.
