Earlier, on Monday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and his wife, Sonal Shah, visited Lalbaugcha Raja to offer prayers.

The Union Minister also visited the residences of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis during his trip.

The Lalbaugcha Raja idol, housed at the Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal, remains a focal point of the festival, drawing thousands of worshippers.

On September 5, the first look of this year’s Lalbaugcha Raja was unveiled.

The history of this revered Ganesh idol dates back to 1934, when it was first established at Putlabai Chawl. For over 80 years, the Kambli family has been responsible for managing the idol and its festivities.

Ganesh Chaturthi, a 10-day festival that began on September 6, will conclude on Anantha Chaturdashi. Also known as Vinayak Chaturthi, the festival honors Lord Ganesha as the god of new beginnings and the remover of obstacles.

Across India and beyond, devotees celebrate the wisdom of Lord Ganesha by welcoming idols into their homes, offering prayers, and visiting decorated pandals.
