Fortis Hospital, Mohali, hosts ‘PSYCH-ED 2023’ Zonal Finals for North Region

 Fortis Hospital, Mohali, organised the Zonal Finals of the 7th edition of its National Psychology quiz programme ‘PSYCH-ED, 2023’ and Ryan International School, Chandigarh battled other schools in the zone to qualify  the National finals here today.

Psych-ED, the National level annual psychology quiz for school students organised by Fortis Healthcare, saw the participation of more than 880 schools in its 7th edition held earlier today. As the online round of Psych-ED went live, more than 11,000 participants from over 190 cities across India participated in the quiz simultaneously. The quiz is designed for students from Class XI & XII, aiming to test their knowledge of Psychology and its concepts. PsychEd 2023 was supported by G D Goenka University, Project CACA, Rupa Publications, IPN Foundation, GetAway Ice creams and Desserts with Lava Mobiles.

The quiz was conceptualised and executed under the aegis of Dr Samir Parikh, Chairperson – Fortis National Mental Health Program, Fortis Healthcare Limited. The objective of the quiz is to impart learning while ensuring that the discipline remains engaging and fun for the students. Speaking on this unique initiative, Dr Samir Parikh, said, “The purpose of our efforts is to advocate for a much larger cause – sensitization and de-stigmatisation of mental health and encouraging knowledge seeking on psychology for school students. The quiz is a unique way of learning with fun! Fortis Healthcare is one of the very few Healthcare Delivery institutions in the country prioritizing education on mental health”

The schools that qualified for the Zonal Finals were:

  1. Stalwarts World School, Amritsar
  2. Innocent Hearts School, Jalandhar
  3. BCM Arya Model School, Ludhiana
  4. Sacred Heart Sen. Sec. School, Chandigarh
  5. Spring Dale Senior School, Amritsar
  6. Doon International School, Mohali
  7. Dyal Singh Public School, Karnal
  8. DAV Public School, BRS Nagar, Ludhiana
  9. La Blossoms School, Jalandhar
  10. Ryan International School, Chandigarh
  11. Delhi Public School, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow
  12. Model Academy School, Jammu

 

Winning team from Ryan International School, Chandigarh, comprising Harkirpa Kaur, Shreya Sharma, Arshpreet Kaur, along with their teacher, Tanvi, said, “We are so excited to be going to Delhi! We’d like to thank our Psychology teacher the most- we were quite nervous, but she believed in us and helped us prepare. Let’s get PSYCH-ED!”
