Deliberation on Future of Economy, Society&Governance in Digital Age: National Conference 2026 Held in Mohali

Khalsa College (Amritsar) of Technology and Business Studies, Mohali successfully organized a national conference on the theme *“The Digital Age 2026: Impact of Technology on Economy, Society and Governance”* under the leadership of College Principal Dr. Harish Kumari. The objective of the conference was to promote collaboration among academia, industry, and policymakers, and to foster dialogue aimed at making digital innovation inclusive, ethical, and responsible.
The conference featured extensive discussions on the impact of rapid technological changes in the digital era. Experts shared their views on how modern technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), big data, fintech, automation, and digital platforms are transforming the economy, business, social structures, and governance systems.
The conference was inaugurated with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by speakers presenting their perspectives on the theme *“The Digital Age 2026: Impact of Technology on Economy, Society and Governance.”*
The chief guest at the conference was former Chief Secretary of Punjab, Dr. Karan Avtar Singh (IAS, Retd.), and the keynote speaker was Dr. Kamal Chhabra (Founder and CEO, KC GlobEd).
Speakers emphasized that digital technology has become a crucial medium for development and good governance, and that the future belongs to institutions that embrace innovation and keep pace with technology. They also highlighted the need for transparency and policy balance in the digital economy, along with ensuring social inclusion alongside technological progress. Experts described Artificial Intelligence and digital platforms as transformative forces for education, industry, and business, and stressed that the integration of research and technology is the foundation of sustainable development.
Prof. Tejinderpal Singh chaired the conference Panel discussion, while Dr. Reena Rani Chaudhary, Dr. Williamjeet Singh, and Dr. Harjit Kaur participated as panelists, shedding light on various dimensions of the digital age. During the technical session, Dr. Jyoti Arora chaired research-based insights in which 40 papers were presented. In the valedictory session, S. Harjinder Singh Cheema (Managing Director, Cheema Boilers Limited) was the Chief guest and Dr. Kanwaljeet Kaur addressed the session and express the views on digital era.
In her message, College Principal Dr. Harish Kumari stated that the conference serves as a strong platform to understand the challenges and opportunities of the digital age. It encourages meaningful dialogue between education, industry, and governance, and guides society toward a robust digital future.
On this occasion, the book “The AI Revolution: Transforming Society and Shaping the Future” was also launched.
