Chandigarh, September 11, 2026: Author Deepika Gorji’s debut memoir, A Girl’s Journey, was formally unveiled at ‘Unspoken’, an initiative of the Indian Women Network (IWN) of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), organised in association with Novel Bunch at CII, Sector 31, Chandigarh, on Friday.

Gorji, who began her writing journey at the age of 53, has woven personal experiences, relationships, love, loss, disappointments and introspection into her debut book.

“Writing this book has been a deeply personal experience. It gave me an opportunity to revisit the people, relationships and experiences that shaped me and, in the process, discover my own voice. My journey has taught me that a new chapter can begin at any age, and sometimes the most meaningful stories are still waiting to be told,” said Gorji.

Sakshi Katyal, Chairperson, CII IWN said, “’Unspoken’ was an effort to create a space where women’s experiences and perspectives can be expressed openly.” Dr Lipi Pathak, Co-Chairperson, CII IWN, said the initiative aimed to bring conversations often left unspoken into the mainstream. Saguna Jain, Co-Founder, Novel Bunch, said, “A Girl’s Journey is deeply personal, yet its emotions are universal and will resonate with many readers.”

The book was formally unveiled by Lt Gen ‘Tiny’ Dhillon, Vivek Atray, Saguna Jain and Hardeep Chandpuri during the event. Following the launch, Gorji participated in a conversation with Sakshi Katyal, Chairperson, CII IWN, sharing the experiences and reflections behind the memoir.

The afternoon featured conversations on a range of issues. ‘In the Twilight Zone’, featuring Sudeiti Jindal, Brig. Daljeet Dhillon and Aanchal Goyal in conversation with Dr Lipi Pathak, explored experiences and perspectives that often remain outside conventional conversations. ‘Hormones: His & Hers’, with Chandni Lamba, Dr Vimal Vibhakar and Anju Mehta in conversation with Pritika Gulati, focused on hormones and their impact on everyday life. ‘From Unclaimed to the Unseen’, featuring Vandana Shukla, Vivek Atray and Suparna-Saraswati Puri, examined questions of visibility, identity and stories that often go unnoticed.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks.
