Courier Boy Arrested for Stealing 40 Mobiles with Fake Aadhaar Cards

A courier delivery person, identified as 23-year-old Pradeep Singh from Nagla Permal village in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, was apprehended by the Delhi Police crime branch for stealing 40 mobile phones through fraudulent means. Singh, who used fake Aadhaar cards to secure employment with various courier companies, was found to have absconded with items meant for delivery.

The arrest followed an investigation into a theft case reported at the Ghazipur police station in Delhi, involving over 40 stolen mobile phones and a smartwatch. Special CP Crime Ravinder Yadav stated that 15 mobile phones were specifically detailed in the case, prompting a comprehensive collection of technical and manual data.

Analysis of the gathered information revealed that Pradeep Singh had employed deceptive methods to steal the items. Through technical surveillance, the location of one of the stolen mobile phones was traced to Agra. A police team was dispatched to the location, leading to the arrest of Pradeep Singh and the recovery of 15 stolen mobile phones. Subsequent searches at his residence yielded an additional 25 mobile phones and an Apple Watch.

The investigation unveiled Singh’s modus operandi, wherein he used a fake Aadhaar card to secure employment with different courier companies. Once confirmed by the courier company, he would place orders for electronic items under a false name and address. Upon receiving the items for delivery, Singh would abscond with the stolen goods. The recovered mobile phones were subsequently sold in the market, allowing Singh to profit from his illicit activities, as revealed during police interrogation.
