In a deeply distressing incident in Chhattisgarh, a 36-year-old man, recently released on parole, has been taken into custody following allegations of assaulting his 11-year-old daughter and 12-year-old niece. Released from Ambikapur jail on October 19, he is accused of attacking his daughter that evening and again on October 21. She reported the incident to Baikunthpur police on October 22, despite threats made to keep her silent.
Shortly afterward, the man’s niece also reported to police with her mother, sharing her account of a similar assault in a nearby forest on October 21. Following these reports, police formed a special task force to locate the suspect, who had been hiding since October 21 night. Leveraging community information and cyber cell support, officers tracked and apprehended him in Korba district on October 26. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the parole and subsequent incidents.
