Mumbai: Actress Amruta Khanvilkar will soon appear in a new Netflix web series titled Taskaree, directed by Neeraj Pandey. The series also features Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi in a key role.
Amruta shared her excitement about collaborating with Neeraj Pandey and described the experience as thrilling. “Working with a director who believes in realism is always exciting. Neeraj Pandey sir follows that approach. Acting under his direction in Taskaree was truly exhilarating,” she said.
The actress revealed that the team shot the entire series at real locations. According to her, the makers chose places that remain inaccessible to the general public. “We filmed scenes at airport airpads and restricted airport areas. The team focused on authenticity at every step. That experience stayed with me,” she shared.
Talking about working with Emraan Hashmi, Amruta said she enjoyed every moment on set. “Emraan sir is extremely humble, and working with him felt effortless and enjoyable,” she said.
Amruta also spoke about her role in the series and described her character as energetic and slightly hot-headed. “It was fun bringing this journey to life. We are excited that Taskaree will release soon on Netflix, and we look forward to the audience experiencing it,” she added.
Recently, Amruta shared the teaser of Taskaree on social media and wrote, “Welcome to the world of Taskaree.” However, the makers have kept details about her character opposite Emraan Hashmi under wraps for now.
Amruta began her film journey with the 2007 romantic comedy Saade Maade Teen. She later appeared in films such as Phoonk and the suspense thriller Gaiir. In 2010, she gained widespread recognition for her Lavani performance “Wajale Ki Bara” in the Marathi film Natarang.
She further made her mark in Hindi cinema with Raazi alongside Vicky Kaushal and Alia Bhatt in 2018, followed by Malang. Amruta also made her OTT debut with the web series Damaged.
Apart from films, she has participated in reality shows such as Nach Baliye 7, which she won, and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 10. She has also hosted popular dance shows including Dance Maharashtra Dance – Season 1, Dance India Dance 6, and Famously Filmfare Marathi.
